where do you summer?
LIFE OF GAY LOGO COMING SOON!
Hi Folx!
Have you acknowledged that summer is almost over? Or maybe summer has just started because technically it began on June 20. My feelings however, is that summer is really from June to August, making this very moment PEAK SUMMER.
Here we are practicing PEAK SUMMER.
From left to right: 30 somethings
However, summer feels like it’s coming to an end.
I feel like I have not taken advantage of the season. I also feel like I need to start scheduling activities in my calendar for the sake of doing things. But you know, I am also very, very tired after work. As someone who will be experiencing and dreading their 34th winter, summer feels fleeting and ephemeral. I also feel like, you know who, stole summer from me, twice.
On the first day of summer, I got invited to gay brunch. Brunch with gay people. Lesbians actually. So many. The lesbian community has been so good to me. It was lovely. It was hot. My tofu scramble got a tan. I drank warm wine. Summer.
30 somethings doing brunch / shout out to Vanessa, happy birthday (yesterday), who, is a 30 something / birthday shout outs moving forward will cost $5CAD. / isn’t the concept of panzanella salad weird??? it was actually really good though
I summered in Vancouver last week. I did a vibe check. When you summer, does that mean you spent the whole summer or part of your summer. I believe it is the former (rich people), but I am middle class so I say latter. More on that later.
And so, summer is coming to an end and it’s also just beginning. Send out those Google Invites and accept all those invitations.
Have that tequila on a Monday. Go for that long night bike ride. Have dinner at Burdock on a Wednesday. Go naked at Hanlan’s, but don’t run into your coworker. Ever.
Anyway, if I haven’t made it clear, you should be summering right now. Which segues into this playlist that I made. Just. For. You. I have an interesting dynamic with music where I find it really difficult to introduce new music to my collection. I’m like Cher and Dion from Clueless, we are battling to add Tai to the friend group.
You’ll find a mixture of not the latest hits to music that just got released. You’ll find sad songs and some bangers. I honestly consider sad songs bangers and demand they play at 1AM at a bar. That’s it, I am becoming a DJ.
