Morning,
Today would have been the day I got to see Lykke Li perform music from her Eyeye album. Instead, she cancelled the Toronto show and here I am still vouching for her ass.
If you were on the internet last week, you probably watched Emma Chamberlain’s Los Angeles house tour on AD. It was good. It was very nice. It was trendy. This isn’t an analysis on the aforementioned video, but my relationship to the internet and interior design.
Ever since I got my first bedroom (in my parent’s house), I was was always eager to decorate it to my personal taste. I last painted it crimson red. It’s jarring to still see it when I go back home. In my 20’s, the internet shaped my taste in design. I leaned on mainstream minimalism out of necessity because I was making about $27k at the time. In my 30’s, I am influenced by midcentury, minimalism and, Scandinavian and Japanese design. Consider white oak woods, natural materials, function and, comfort and simplicity.
As someone who identifies as not online (Instagram), I don’t know what the latest interior design trends are. And honestly I have no desire to keep up. I used to want everything that everyone had on social media to buy into a personality. In this stage of my life, I am confident in what I like and don’t like. It also may be a product of growing older. Which I am really ok with.

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Cool It Down. Album is easy to digest which I think is a bad sign. Should I elaborate on this theory further?
Bjork also released a new album: Fossora. No thoughts yet.
Who's really using up the water in the American West? at Vox. Not obvious, but kind of obvious.
If you like psychological thrillers, then might I suggest Watcher. It features Maika Monroe who also starred in the cult classic It Follows. The wardrobe was well done, the shots were beautiful and that apartment. Also there’s a serial killer in Romania. 8/10
3 bananas with peanut butter. A big deal considering bananas are like #34 on my list of favourite fruits.
Is Natural Wine Actually Better for You? at NYT. Regardless, alcohol is a toxin. But I do love natural wine. Sorry.

Compliments from the dentist and hygienist about how white my teeth are. You just might go blind. The secret: crest white strips last used in high school which was about 17 years ago!
Still considering these chairs, albeit at first glance it looks like fabric, but I think it’s vinyl? $120 a piece - worth it???
Second class citizens of mobile technology finally got the Substack Reader app. I was hoping to use it also as an editor, but I will take it in the form of consumption I guess.
I want to get a tattoo. The issue I am having is that I don’t have Instagram and I don’t recall any of the artists I follow. I am looking for clean and simple line work, you know the one. Sends recs!

I’d say those chairs are worth it.
The only tattoo style I’m into right now is Korean-style pet tattoos. Google it, you know you want one of Henry…
