Hello!
Last week was dramatic. I’m sorry. Maybe don’t announce a medial issue in a newsletter. Lol.
Remember when I wrote about how much I hate shopping? Well, capitalism reigns and life is good again when you sprinkle in a purchase high. I wasn’t necessarily in the market for anything and didn’t have the financial means at the time (5 days ago). But when the clothes are good, it’s hard to just walk away.
COS is so good right now.
I hate to admit it, but if you were to define the ideal brand for how I dress at a reasonable price point, COS would be it. The garments are well constructed, the shapes are architecturally pleasing and the best feature would be a lack of synthetic fibers. Shopping from both the “men’s” & “women’s” section multiplies your choices.
Do not limit your clothing options people.
We’re all performing to the world in some capacity by way of clothes. An armour, if you will. Whether it be the shape of your trousers, the colour of your blouse or the footwear of choice, we're all trying to convey something.
I'm trying to convey that I want to look like Brittany Bathgate. I am working on it.
Outfit reveal next week?
Homosexual Agenda
My first open thread about Gwenyth Paltrow’s home on AD which didn’t achieve the results I wanted. I wanted conversation, but instead I got hearts. If you feel you have something to say about all the dutch ovens, please say something.
Mitski’s new album, Laurel Hell, is the sad upbeat workout album I needed for February.
I don’t think too much about denim, but when the denim is great, run, don’t walk to Totême. If you don’t know, Elin Kling founded the brand from the early aughts of blogging days at its prime.
Zombies is one of my favourite subgenre under horror. I binged All of Us Are Dead on Netflix and I give it a 6.5/10. The episodes are too long, there are too many episodes and some of the characters could be smarter.
Photo of the week, a new series?
Climate Change Enters the Therapy Room for The New York times. Or you can do what I do to keep myself sane, not think about it.
I have yet to play Wordle, but it looks like it brings joy, until it doesn’t. Capitalism Hates Collective Fun for Jacobin about The New York Times buying wordle and probably, eventually putting free collective fun behind a paywall.
Lightlife's Smart Ground made me gag. It smelled/tasted like beefy/metal. Too real. I haven’t had beef in over 13 years. This is a product designed for people who eat meat, but want to try plant based.
John Early’s Next Dance for Thrillist. Huge fan! First read about him on Hello Mr. Remember Hello Mr???? I should write a love letter to them, on here.
Euphoria S2 EP5 one sentence review: invite me to all the pools during Rue's police chase.
